Claire Asher

Claire started her teaching career in 1995. She has worked in all of the Primary Key stage classes, including cover with the Reception children. Claire’s co-ordination of Gifted & Talented provision was recognised at County level, Ofsted recognised both teaching and SENCo role as outstanding. In 2008 Claire received the Eastern Region Teaching Award for her SEND work in schools and came top three in the UK, in the same year. Claire served three years as a Teaching Awards Judge and had the privilege of seeing outstanding practice alongside this and her current advisory teacher role with the local authority for the past thirteen years.

Claire has supported all education provisions from nurseries, primary, secondary, colleges, specialist schools and secure units with children and young people of all ages and needs. She has more recently worked as an Advisory Teacher within a local authority for care-experienced children and young people.

Claire’s believes her work is a vocation to support young people to achieve their full potential. She has raised two sons with her husband of nearly 30 years and is now a grandmother!
